Rainy days

I am home today, because of a flooded car….again.  I thought that whatever was wrong was fixed since it has not leaked with the last several rains we’ve had, but obviously I was wrong.  I knew we were supposed to get *some* more rain and should have covered my car.  But, we’ve had rain off and on for the past couple of weeks and my car hasn’t leaked so I didn’t cover it last night.   So, dammit, I’m ticked off, but have no one to blame but myself, because now I feel like an idiot.  While this does give me a long weekend, I really don’t want to spend the vacation time having today off, plus I had some things I really wanted to get done at work today.  Dammit….again.  If I can’t drive it to work, I can’t drive it to the gym.  Damn, damn, damn.

I’m trying to get over the aggravation.  I’m sitting here, dressed for work since I didn’t discover it was flooded until I went to leave.  I need to change my clothes.  The puppies will be glad I’m home so they can pester me since they don’t like to go outside and potty when it’s raining.   They have pads down that they use, but they act embarrassed if they go on them when we’re home.  It’s kind of funny, actually, because you can tell they really need to go, but don’t want us to see them do it!   Then again, they might not be glas I’m home.

I have tons of DVR stuff to catch up on, and 2 West Wing DVDs to catch up on, and laundry to catch up on, and housework to catch up on, and stitching to catch up on.  Whatever I do, I need to watch the rain so when it stops enough to keep me from getting soaked, I need to cover my car.  Damn.

  1. I had a car one time, a Mercury Sable, that would have water in the floor every time it would rain. The dealership insisted there was nothing wrong with the car, it was the moonroof that was not factory installed. I kept insisting it wasn’t the roof, because the seats were never wet. They finally figured that it was running down the firewall and into the car. I don’t understand the whole mechanics of it, but they fixed it, and it never leaked again. Could yours be something like that?

  2. I’m so sorry about your car. 🙁
